Fiji Sun: Builders Changing Name
28th July 2009
The construction company that built one of the region’s most luxurious resorts has decided on a name change in recognition of its success.
Pacific Building Systems is changing its name.
A statement from the company said the name change reflected the company’s growth and the expansion of its product and service offerings.
The company’s new name is Pacific Building Solutions and this was announced at a special function in the company head office and factory in Lami last night.
“After becoming the leading builder of resorts in Fiji over the last decade, the reason for the change became evident - new technology, services and new markets - all reasons that contributed to the need to select a name that speaks to the benefit of the company’s core offering,” the company statement said.
“Ask any managing director of a fast-growing company if they’d change the name of their business in the middle of an impressive growth period and you’d probably get a jovial ‘fat chance’,” PBS managing director Michael Fairfax said. “But when you think about the idea more closely, changing our name to include the word “solutions” makes perfect sense.
The new name, Pacific Building Solutions gives us room to introduce a more comprehensive set of products and services and tackle a greater variety of building projects that will better enable us to support our clients with their construction needs.”
Having recently completed Laucala Island Resort (www.laucala.com), the most luxurious resort in the South Pacific, Pacific Building Solutions has set a new standard for quality and professionalism for all Fiji based construction companies.
And while building resorts remains at the heart of the company’s core service offerings, one the company’s new initiatives is the launch of PBS Homes a new division within the company dedicated to building the finest homes in Fiji.
PBS Homes recently partnered with three of Fiji’s largest residential land developers catapulting it into a position as the largest home builder in Fiji and offering a unique approach to home building.
Historically, those interested in building their own homes were forced to be owner/builders; they were responsible for bringing together all the individual components necessary to build a new home.
From finding and buying their own block of land, identifying a talented architect, engaging a respected engineer, filtering through piles of tender documents trying to find a reputable builder who can take the drawings to create a new home to finally managing the construction work which inevitably ends up being more time consuming and over budget than they ever imagined.
Unfortunately, many home owners will never again build in Fiji because the typical home building process was a terrible experience. PBS Homes now offers a simple solution which takes the hassle out of home building. In partnering with three of Fiji’s most respected land developers, home owners can now simply identify a ready-to-build block of land, select a house from a library of architecturally designed plans which can be customised to suit their lifestyle and budget, pay a nominal deposit then sit back and watch the home built exactly according to plans and budget.
Moving into a new home is now only a matter of months not years. No hassle, pain-free home building, an unparalleled concept in Fiji. Leave the headaches to the professionals and get busy living life to the fullest. With the highest quality finish, home owners can trust their new PBS home will be trouble free for years to come. The home building experience has never been so easy.
To celebrate the name change, PBS has sponsored Rachael Mafi as its contestant in the Vodafone Miss Fiji Hibiscus Festival.
